Dr. Appelbaum completed his undergraduate degree with honors at Loyola University Chicago and his medical degree at St. Louis University School of Medicine with a distinction in research. He went on to perform his residency training in Otolaryngology at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. Most recently, he completed a 2-year ACGME accredited clinical and research fellowship in Neurotology (Adult and Pediatric Neurotologic Surgery) at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. Dr. Appelbaum is a member of the American Neurotology Society and the American Academy of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery. He is currently a board member for the Metro Atlanta Educational Society for Otolaryngology.

Dr. Eric Appelbaum has been the best doctor I have ever had the pleasure to have as my surgeon/caregiver. He is thoughtful, explains diagnoses easily, follows up with what he says he is going to do and shows sincere care of me as his patient. Kelli is also good at returning phone calls and follows through with what she promises to do. I am blessed to have them care for my medical needs.
